He was raised in the church and was taught about Christ from birth by his anointed mother, Evangelist Gwendolyn Rider Walker. He learned about ministry as a toddler as he sat besde his mother on the piano stool as she played and sung powerfully for many choirs, groups and soloist. He accepted Christ at the age of 13. At the age of 22 he accepted his call to preach the gospel. God grew him quickly for he was preparing him for an awesome work seven years later. During the process, he started a youth community dance and drama group and named it Dramatic Praise. Many youth accepted Christ and were filled with the Holy Spirit as they danced and ministered unto God all over the East Texas area. God began to open doors for the group and they traveled to places such as Dallas, New York, and many other areas. They even had the opportunity to minister through dance in the Gospel Music Workshop of America in Kansas City, Missouri. They performed on a national platform on the agenda with artist such as Byron Cage, Kirk Franklin, Kurt Karr, and many others. God continued to groom Pastor Bonner and pulled out the theatrical gifts in him. He then added to his plate Dramatic Praise Productions, in which he started writing and producing gospel plays. Many flock to see these productions. Many have surrendered unto God as they watch the anointed productions go forth. His latest project was a gospel play which was performed in Tyler, Texas where he featured the awesome gospel recording artist Evangelist Beverly Crawford and actor Lee Jackson from the hit movie "Friday Night Lights". He has been through many disappointments, pains and struggles as he wrestled with the gifts that God had given him. Little did he know that it all was working together for the good, for God was preparing him to become a Pastor. In 2001 God directed him to start Abundant Life Ministries in Longview, Texas. It started with four people in a little store front beside Royal Reflections Barber and Beauty Salon, which is his business. Within a couple of years, God grew the ministry and moved them to a bigger place. He then met his beautiful, anointed and God sent wife, Evangelist Tina Bonner and his two adorable children Trenton and Autumn. Together they strive to build the Kingdom of God. He has a vision to have a youth center that will mentor and direct youth to their right destination. He also will continue travel with his dance and gospel play ministry and allow God to move in an awesome way. His desire is that through Abundant Life Ministries, people will experience love, deliveance, spiritual growth and know God has a purpose for everyone. He believes in stirring up the gift in every soul and allowing God to use them. |
